As the winter season heats up, all eyes are on basketball as teams are just getting started with non-conference games early this season.
Here are some teams to watch as the season progresses and we get closer to conference play.
Boys Basketball
Central Cabarrus

They made it to the championship round of the playoffs defeating Pisgah for the 2023-2024 NCHSAA 3A State Title.
Concord
The Spiders sit at 4-1 overall and a 1-0 conference record.
Last season the Spiders finished with an overall record of 17-11 and a conference record of 12-4.
They made it to the first round of the playoffs falling on the road to Ashbrook.
Cox Mill
The Chargers sit at 3-2 overall and a 0-0 conference record.
Last season the Chargers finished with an overall record of 13-14 and a conference record of 6-6.
They made it to the first round of the playoffs falling on the road to Independence.
Hickory Ridge
The Bulls sit at 2-3 overall and a 0-0 conference record.
Last season the Bulls finished with an overall record of 20-8 and a conference record of 9-3.
They made it to the first round of the playoffs falling at home to Butler.
Jay M. Robinson
The Bulldogs sit at 5-1 overall and a 2-0 conference record.

They made it to the second round of the playoffs falling on the road to Southern Guilford.
Mount Pleasant
