Cameron Tucker, rising senior at Jay M. Robinson High School, has been named 2025 Observer’s girls’ athlete of the year.
Tucker has been a standout multisport athlete at Robinson in football and track this school year.
In the fall Tucker helped the Bulldogs on the football field as a defensive back go 12-1 by getting 22 tackles this past season as well as his fourth interception of his career.
He also excelled on the track in the winter and spring by winning the indoor 55-meter title at the NCHSAA 3A state championships and winning the outdoor state 3A titles in the 200-meters (20.92 seconds) and 400-meters (47.22).
Tucker comes from a line of student athletes with siblings who either ran track or played football in high school and college.
Tucker has had several college offers and wants to play football in college over track but would pursue both sports if he found a college that allowed him to play both sports.
