For the first time in school history, for any sport, West Cabarrus High School has won a Conference Title. The Men’s Varsity Soccer team defeated Hickory Ridge 3-2 on October 21st. West Cabarrus was down 0-2 at halftime and only needed a draw to bring home the title. The Wolverines came back in the second half forcing the game to go into overtime.
In overtime, Ayden Torres sent the ball to Gio Mercado who then scored his second goal of the game and secured the win for West Cabarrus. This win marked the first ever 20-match win streak for West Cabarrus Men’s soccer.
